How do I access newsgroups through LLN?

News groups are available via web-based providers e.g. http://groups.google.com/. These allow easy access to the content, with full searching of the message text, without the need to subscribe or unsubscribe. They have the added bonus the users do not have to set up newsreader client software. The use of web-based newsgroups also means that the displayed content is filtered through I-Gear and that the messages and attachments are virus scanned. Together these facts provide a strong rationale for not providing newsgroup access through client applications such as Outlook Express.
