How the Award will be made
The Award will be made at three levels.
Level
Three will be awarded to schools which fully meet all the ten
point criteria.
Schools which do not meet all the criteria will be awarded Level Two or Level One as appropriate and advised on action required to meet Level Three.
The panel will use its discretion and award Level 1 and Level 2 to those schools who demonstrate commitment to race equality and have made substantial progress but do not fully meet the 10 point criteria.
The awards will be presented to the successful schools in October 2002
An Award Ceremony will be organised to celebrate the award and
a cash prize will be made to the winner(s) at the event. The Stephen Lawrence
Education Award is an annual award, schools who have applied in the past may
re-apply.
To nominate your school, please fill in and return the nomination
form by the closing date of 12 September 2002.
Portfolios to be submitted by 1 October 2002.
